빌보드지 No.1에 오른 주일의 수(數)에 따라 순위가 결정된 (빌보드지에 가장 오랫동안 No.1에 오른(16주) 머라이어 캐리와 보이즈 투 멘의 one Sweet Day가 전체 1위 임) 이 차트는 완전히 미국 중심의 차트로 한국인이 좋아하는 100곡과는 많은 차이가 있다.

또한 비슷한 시기에 영국의 BBC가 선정한 '지난 50년간 영국에서 가장 인기 있었던 100곡'(골든 디스크 홈페이지 '팝차트'에 수록되어 있음)과 많은 차이를 나타내고 있다.
